Wholesale Packaging Suppliers in Nairobi: What to Check Before You Commit
A practical checklist for vetting a wholesale packaging supplier in Nairobi — stock depth, consistency, payment terms and how fast they actually deliver.

Buying packaging by the box is a different relationship than buying it by the pallet. If you're stocking a supermarket, running a restaurant chain or supplying other businesses yourself, here's what separates a supplier who can actually hold up a wholesale relationship from one who's just discounting a retail price.
Stock depth, not just stock
A supplier can show you one carton of a product and still not have enough to fill your monthly order. Ask what quantity they can supply consistently, not just what's on the shelf today.
Spec consistency across reorders
Your third reorder should be identical to your first — same gsm, same size, same colour. A supplier who sources opportunistically from whoever's cheapest that week will eventually hand you a different product with the same name.
Payment terms that match your cash cycle
Wholesale relationships often move to invoice terms or part-credit for established buyers, instead of paying upfront every time. Ask early whether that's on the table and what it takes to qualify.
Volume pricing that's actually tiered
A real wholesale price list has clear breaks — this price at 500 units, this price at 2,000, this price at 10,000. If a supplier won't show you the tiers, you can't tell if you're actually getting a wholesale rate.
Delivery that scales with the order
A single box is easy to deliver. A pallet needs a van, a loading dock conversation, and a realistic lead time. Ask how they handle large-volume delivery specifically, not just their standard courier answer.
In short
A good wholesale supplier sells you certainty as much as product — the same spec, the same price tier, the same delivery window, order after order. That's worth more than a slightly lower one-off price.
