Custom Stickers and Labels for Small-Business Products in Kenya
What you need to know before ordering custom stickers or labels for a small-batch product — material choice, adhesive type, sizing and minimum order.

If you make soap, honey, juice, snacks or any product that leaves your kitchen or workshop in a jar or pouch, the label is doing real work — it's often the only branding a customer ever sees. Here's what actually changes the price and the result.
Paper vs waterproof vinyl
Paper labels are cheaper and fine for dry, indoor products. Anything that touches moisture, gets refrigerated or is handled a lot — juices, lotions, anything in a bathroom or fridge — needs a waterproof vinyl or polypropylene label or it will smudge or peel.
Adhesive strength
Permanent adhesive is standard for retail products. Removable adhesive matters for reusable jars or if you expect the customer to peel it off cleanly — ask specifically if that's your case, because it's not the default.
Size the label to the container, not the artwork
A beautiful label at the wrong size either wraps awkwardly around a curved jar or leaves dead space on a flat pouch. Send your actual container's dimensions, not a guess.
Colour accuracy
Screen colours and printed colours are never identical. For a brand colour that matters (a signature packaging colour, a logo colour), ask for a printed proof before a full run, the same way you would for printed bags or boxes.
Minimum order for small producers
Digital label printing has made small-batch runs realistic — you no longer need thousands of identical labels to get a reasonable unit price. Ask specifically about small-batch pricing rather than assuming you need to over-order.
In short
Match the material to how the product is actually handled, get the size right from real measurements, and don't over-order just because that used to be the only way to get a good price.
